The slow, jagged steps up the dimly lit garage began to crescendo.

Boot heels clicked on the cement, echoing throughout.

He ripped the cover off the old bike.

Nostalgia arose, along with dust and debris.

He switched the fuel on.

Pulled open the choke.

And turned the key in the ignition.

It sputtered. Then nothing.

He tried again.

Nothing.

Frustrated, he throttled gas into the tank.

He closed his eyes, saying a quick prayer under his breath.

Then, turned the key again.

The engine shuddered, then roared to life.

Through the chaotic rumble, things felt at peace again.

Winter was over, summer would overcome.
